How To Use A Screen To Stencil

Materials…

  • Embroidery hoop
  • Scissors/cutters
  • Old newspapers
  • Screen printing paint
  • Curtain sheers
  • Cut out stencil
  • A semi-thick paper
  • T-shirt

How to prepare your embroidery hoop and curtain sheer?
All you have to do is place the curtain sheer across and over the embroidery hoop and lock it tightly… make it real tight! Then when you’re done, just cut the excess amount of sheer because it gets in the way with the paint and it’s annoying as hell.

How to transfer and make your prints…
1.) Put a newspaper underneath the shirt and DON’T forget to put another paper inside the shirt because the paint will bleed through! You don’t want that to happen!

- Place your stencil on top of the shirt.

2.) Protect your shirt by any means of paint!!! You don’t want paint on unwanted regions. All you have to do is put newspapers around the stencil.

3.) After you secured your shirt… place the screen (embroidery hoop + curtain sheer) on top of your stencil facing flat downwards ( where the curtain sheer touches the ground)

- Only put necessary amount of paint on top and bottom just like shown on picture below.

4.) Now you are ready to spread the paint over and smooth it out. Use any straight edge card board or anything that is thick enough to do the trick.

- When spreading the paint, be careful NOT TO MOVE the screen when doing so.

- When you’re done smoothing the paint all over the screen… carefully peel it off the shirt.

5.) Then you got yourself a custom shirt!!! CONGRATULATIONS!
